Best uTorrent settings to increase the download speed
uTorrent is one of the popular and most used BitTorrent clients right now.
The standards settings provide the average performance and resource usage for your Windows PC. Which is enough for the regular user.
But there are few tricks to increase your uTorrent download speed. Which we going to look at this blog post.
Best uTorrent Settings to Increase Download Speed
Select “Options” then click “Preferences” or Click “Ctrl + p”
Setting One: General Settings
Settings Two: BandWidth
1: Goto Speedtest.net and test your connection speed in it and note the upload rate and the enter the lower value then what you have noted from Speedtest.net in the maximum upload rate section.
2: In ” Number of Connections ” Section
2.1: Add 200 to maximum number of connection
2.2: Add 200 to Maximum number of conected peers per torrent. You can increase the number if you bandwidth are high.
And hit ok.
Settings Three: BitTorrent
In the BitTorrent section, make the Outgoing enable in the ” Protocol Encryption ” section.
Settings Four: Queueing
The Maximum number of connections is the most important part to increase uTorrent download speed.
In Queue setting, Set the maximum number of the torrent to 8 and the maximum number of active download to 5 if you have more then 1 Mbps. For my case, i need only two files to get download at the same time, so I have set to 2.
In Seed Goal section. Set the Maximum ratio (%) to 150.
Once you finish queueing settings you need to close and re-launch the uTorrent for the change to take effect.
If this setting didn’t work for you. I recommended you to change the value in Utorrent Settings to test and find working one.

Sorry for being a dickhead… I’t actually went up to 6MB/s after a few minutes.
You need to keep the maximum download rate to 0 if you made it 999999 or max cause thats what made mine drop that low too

Down is now 0.5, Up is now 0.7. One week to download an album on pro version

Hey there guys. I’ve tried these settings and it’s downloading slow 530kbs. On speed test I have 87.23 Mbps download and 36.80 Mbps upload. Could you please give me some advice
My download speed on speedtest.net is 78.72 Mbps and my upload speed is 36.26 Mbps. I’m downloading on utorrent and my fastest speed has been 168.8kbs. Can you please help
